Woman files a $20m lawsuit against KFC for $20 bucket of chicken she ordered

A New York grandmother says she spent $20 for a bucket of chicken at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) last summer and was disappointed when she didn't get what was advertised. She said:
“I came home and said, “Where’s the chicken?’ ” Anna Wurtzburger said.  “I thought I was going to have a couple of meals.” She claimed that KFC's advert showed a “bucket that’s overflowing with chicken,” which was what she expected.

She’s now suing them for $20m claiming false advertising.

Wurtzburger complained to the company but said she was told that the reason why all bucket was overflowing with chicken on the ads was to give the opportunity for the public to see the product. But because she wasn't satisfied with the explanation, she hired a lawyer, demanding the company change its advertising.

The company did send the 64-year-old grandmother two gift certificates as an apology, but she sent them back, instead asking for $20 million in damages.

She said she's demanding $20m because “It’s the principal of the matter,” Wurtzburger told CBS Local. “Sometimes you gotta hit people where they feel it.”

KFC responded saying the lawsuit is “meritless.”
