The consultations, held from April 25-29 in Ogun State, and June 22-29 in Lagos are part of the GTBank Orange Ribbon Initiative, an advocacy programme designed to support children with developmental disabilities in Nigeria especially Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
At the one-on-one consultation, healthcare specialists drawn from Nigeria and the United States, offered for free, specialized services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, behavioral analysis, audiology, clinical psychology, developmental psychiatry, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. Amongst the partners in the programme were the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Olufunso Amosun through the Uplift Foundation, the State Ministries of Health and Education, Science and Technology, Blazing Trails International, Texas, USA, College of Medicine, Idi-Araba, Lagos, Patrick Speech and Language Centre, and the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Ogun State.
