I Won’t Be A Bench Warmer Under Guardiola – Iheanacho Boasts

Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho says he is confident of enjoying quality playing time under new Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, given the coach’s antecedents.
Iheanacho who early this week alongside some other top players of the club unveiled City’s new jersey told Manchester Evening News yesterday that Guardiola is one manager that has a good record of working with young players.
In his words:-

“He (Guardiola) has a good record working with young players. He’s going to prep the young players and we’re going to improve. Everyone know they should work hard, work to get into the first team.”
Guardiola was appointed as Manuel Pellegrini’s replacement at City and he has since been unveiled to the club’s supporters.
Iheanacho who last season finished with the best minutes-to-goal ratio in the Premier League, stressed that Guardiola has the credentials to bring silverware to the Etihad Stadium.
“He’s coached great teams – Barcelona, Bayern Munich. He’s done great for all the teams. He is going to do same thing here.”
Iheanacho, 19, scored 14 goals in all competitions for City last season.
