Latest reports from the showbiz world is that Barcelona star, Neymar is swapping the football field for the big screen this summer as he will appear with Vin Diesel in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage in a role that is yet to be confirmed.
According to reports in The Sun UK, this marks a return of the XXX franchise after 12 years, with Diesel playing the title role alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Ruby Rose and singer, Nicky Jam.
Vin Diesel posted on his Instagram to call Neymar a ‘natural’ following his first day on set.
He posted: “So proud to announce that @neymarjr has filmed his first day on XxX. He is a natural!!!”
Neymar had earlier teased that he was on location at filming but claimed that ‘Vin might have to kill him’ if he revealed the reason.
UFC star, Conor McGregor was pencilled in for a role but dropped out in March to concentrate on training — shortly before the proposed megafight between him and Floyd Mayweather was revealed.
Neymar has opted to play in the Olympics over the Copa America and has been busy this week in the US.
He had a football session with Justin Beiber, took in a baseball event with the New York Mets stadium before releasing a new pair of Nike boots.
The Brazilian was in electric form for Barcelona this season as they bagged a domestic double, bagging 31 goals in 52 games.
The film is slated for a January 2017 release and will be directed by D. J. Caruso.
