Reports from the UK say a plot by ISIS terrorists to target football fans during Euro 2016 has been discovered by police.
According to Mirror UK, the fanatics were planning to use suicide bombers, guns and even drones carrying chemical weapons to attack England’s Three Lions fans in Marseille.
Police say they have found data on a laptop used by Salah Abdeslam, suspected mastermind of the Paris and Brussels attacks, outlining a plan to target England supporters as they gather in the city for the June 11 clash with Russia.
It is feared followers of Abdeslam are determined to carry out the attack despite his capture.
UK security chiefs also fear IS may try to gun down England supporters as they enjoy a drink in bars outside the official fanzone.
A senior Whitehall source is reported to have revealed: “What they might attempt outside of the secure zones is what worries us most.
“Bars full of happy, drunk blokes are a very soft target. We are working extremely closely with the French.”
Photos and references to Marseille’s historic Old Port, where Three Lions fans will gather in two weeks’ time for England’s opening game, were found on a laptop following a raid on one of Abdeslam’s safe houses in Brussels.
IT comes after horrifying news that ISIS terrorists gunned down at least 12 Real Madrid fans while they were watching the Champions League final in a fresh attack on club supporters in Iraq.
Four gunmen started firing indiscriminately at their victims after bursting into a Real Madrid supporters’ club based in Baquba around 40 miles north of the capital Baghdad.
The group’s president Ziad Albidani told Spanish sports daily AS the attack happened towards the end of the match before the penalty shoot-out decided by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The number of dead people has been put at 12 with eight injured. The extent of their injuries are not known.
